Despite the fact that Real Madrid maintains that their roster is closed for the current season, there are still rumors that players are interested in joining the club.
After all, every player, at some point or another, has fantasized about playing for Los Blancos and has the club on their list of ideal destinations with the intention of playing for them.
As of right now, sources from Florian Plettenberg indicate that the most recent player to be associated with the Spanish capital is Leon Goretzka, who is now playing for Bayern Munich.
Uncertainty regarding the future
The German midfielder and his entourage have had a difficult time over the past few weeks due to the fact that the new manager, Vincent Kompany, has not shown any favoritism toward him.
Earlier this week, he was even excluded from the Bavarians’ roster for their DFB Pokal match against Ulm, which further fueled the speculation that he was leaving the club. As a matter of fact, it was reported that Bayern Munich was “urging the player to leave.”
Despite not being high on the manager’s priority list, Goretzka is probably going to stay in Bavaria for the next season, as reported by the German journalist.
In the event that he decides to depart, he is more interested in Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Liverpool because they are his top MLS options.
Even though Goretzka would be a great addition to any team, Carlo Ancelotti would prefer to avoid the hassle of bringing in a new midfield player.
There is obviously no room for another body in the already fierce fight for a spot in the middle of the park.
In the previous campaign, Goretzka played in 30 games for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, making 25 starts. He finished with six goals and seven assists.
Out of the 180 minutes the Germans played against Real Madrid, he only played 45. During that time, he completed 95% of his passes and had one shot blocked.
