Real Madrid are always alert to players nearing the end of their contracts, and Jamal Musiala is one such player who has been monitored by the Spanish giants in recent times.
The Bayern Munich star, widely regarded as the Bavarians’ best young talent, sees his deal with the club run out in 2026 leading to widespread speculation over his future.
Bayern Munich have opened talks with him over a renewal but were reluctant to offer him the wages he was demanding.
Needless to say, the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City immediately appeared on the scene as interested parties.
Bayern’s changed stance
As relayed by SPORT in a recent update, Bayern Munich have now decided to cave in to the player’s demands as they see him as the centre-piece of their future project.
The Bavarian giants do not wish to take any risk, especially with Real Madrid prowling around, and wish to avoid a repeat of the infamous Toni Kroos saga.
Recent talks between the Bavarians and Musiala’s entourage have thus been positive and an agreement is much closer now than ever before.
The new deal will be on Musiala’s terms and will make him the highest-paid player in the squad.
Once the renewal is complete, the versatile youngster will earn a staggering €22 million per year including bonuses and thus reach a slab that the likes of Harry Kane are on currently.
The objective is to tie him down to a new and lucrative deal and thus push Real Madrid away from him.
From Real Madrid’s perspective, the news is not all that bad as they have other players like Florian Wirtz also on their agenda for the summer of 2025.
