It is no secret that Real Madrid intends to pursue the acquisition of Bayern Munich young talent Alphonso Davies next summer.
In 2024, the 23-year-old will reach the last year of his contract with the Bavarian giants, and discussions over a new agreement have stagnated.
As a result, speculation surrounding a potential transfer to Real Madrid has increased significantly in recent weeks, with sources claiming that the Canadian left-back is leaning towards a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Bayern Munich’s manager wants Davies to remain.
In the middle of the rumors, Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer underlined the club’s determination to retain Alphonso Davies beyond next summer.
The Bundesliga club head said that Die Roten aim to keep the 23-year-old left-back and expressed optimism that the player feels the same way.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Hainer said, “He’s under contract with us until June 2025, and he’s one of the best full-backs in the world.”
“Of course, we want to keep Davies and I hope he wants to stay also.”
Top goal for 2024
Davies, along with a new superstar striker, has emerged as a major target for Real Madrid in the summer of 2024.
The Merengues are keen to recruit the Canadian international as a long-term replacement for left-backs Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia, who have failed to impress.
Real Madrid will pursue Davies in 2024, knowing that Bayern Munich would be obliged to sell the 23-year-old if he does not agree to sign a new deal.
Furthermore, the Merengues are willing to part ways with Mendy in order to create place for the Canadian ace.
