Even when Ronaldo moved to Juventus, Messi continued to be regarded as a legend in the national team. On the other hand, the acquisition of Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid gives the impression that Spanish football is on the verge of entering a new age.

For months, de Jong’s future has been uncertain. During this time, Barcelona have tried to get him to adjust his contract financially and extend his commitment to the club beyond 2026.
However, the midfielder’s response has always been the same: he does not want to alter his contract financially or negotiate an extension.
This stance has caught the attention of top clubs in the Premier League and Bayern Munich. While Barcelona have taken a wait-and-see approach regarding possible transfer offers, de Jong has repeatedly stated that he is happy at Barcelona and does not want to leave.
Manchester United reportedly gave up on trying to sign de Jong a long time ago, and PSG and Bayern Munich have also grown tired of waiting for a positive response from him.
