Having suffered an unexpected elimination in the Copa del Rey, Real Madrid return to action on Sunday evening.
Fresh from their biggest wound of the season, they will be raring to make a statement of intent against Almeria back on home soil.
Their opponents on the night have had far from the ideal start to the season. Just over halfway through the campaign, they sit last on the standings with no wins and 14 losses to their name.
Needless to say, Los Blancos are overwhelming favourites despite their recent setback.
Speaking to the media ahead of his team’s clash against Real Madrid in La Liga, Almeria striker Luis Suarez gave his two cents about the impending fixture and what his side could expect on the night.
He began by giving an update on his availability and preparedness for the game, especially after his rough injury patch this season.
“We are all ready. It is true that I have fewer minutes and training sessions. This is normal because I have not played for three and a half months, but that will be decided by the coach.”
Commenting on what made teams like Real Madrid superior year after year, the striker insisted that their sustained quality and impeccable transfer strategy was the core.
“Well, in the end, these types of teams become stronger every year to continue to be the best. They have made amazing deals like Bellingham, which is one of the best deals this season.”
Finally, he expressed optimism ahead of the La Liga clash scheduled for tomorrow, saying,
“It is true that they are the best in their field, but we are eleven against eleven and we hope to do it in the best way.”
