During the most recent summer transfer window, which has already come to a close, Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe were once again in the center of attention.
In spite of PSG’s repeated attempts to cash out on the French striker in the wake of his negative position on a contract extension, both sides ultimately found common ground, and a transfer to Madrid did not come to fruition as a result.
Despite this, the Spanish powerhouses continue to monitor the circumstances surrounding the Frenchman, with Real Madrid anxious to ultimately seal his contract the following season.
Real Madrid is interested in reaching a deal with Mbappe in the month of January.
According to SPORT, Real Madrid wants to negotiate a deal with Kylian Mbappe in January 2024 so that he may join the club for free in the summer.
In spite of the fact that Mbappe would not yet be a free agent, his current deal is scheduled to end in the summer of 2024. As a result, the player who won the World Cup would be able to enter into pre-contract negotiations with any club of his choosing at that time.
And Real Madrid wants to take advantage of that by concluding a deal with Mbappe around the turn of the year, so that everything is ready for him to join as a free agent when it becomes possible.
Although Jude Bellingham has done amazing things to help lessen the effect of Karim Benzema’s absence, Los Blancos are now suffering from the absence of a striker due to the fact that Karim Benzema’s position has not been adequately covered.
Real Madrid’s first priority remains to sign Kylian Mbappe, but if a deal can’t be reached with him before the end of the month, the club is looking at other players, like Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, as potential replacements.
PSG is attempting to close the gap on Mbappe.
PSG has previously been successful in keeping Mbappe’s services once, in the year 2022, and the club is now making another attempt to negotiate a new deal with him in order to achieve their goal of repeating that achievement.
Despite this, Mbappe does not want to remain in his current position and is working toward leaving the club in the near future.
However, considering that it seemed as if he would quit the club both the previous year and this year, but he ended up remaining anyhow, it is impossible to say for definite that he will depart at this time.
