Ahead of the Madrid derby, Real Madrid player Aurelien Tchouameni said that wearing the club’s royal white jersey implies that they are obligated to win every game, regardless of who they are playing against. This statement was made in preparation for the Madrid derby.
The Whites have gotten off to an impressive start to the 2023/24 season, winning all six of their games across all competitions, and they are presently in first place in the La Liga rankings.
However, they will face their toughest competition of the season so far tomorrow at the Civitas Metropolitano when they go up against Atletico Madrid’s squad in a match that will be coached by Carlo Ancelotti.
According to Tchouameni, Real Madrid needs to win every game.
Tchouameni engaged in dialogue with the press in the days leading up to the game and emphasized how important it is to triumph in each and every contest, regardless of the caliber of the opponent.
“We can’t lose any of these games. According to Mundo Deportivo’s translation of what Tchouameni stated, “it doesn’t matter whether it’s against Atlético de Madrid or Getafe, it doesn’t matter.”
Having said that, the French international player emphasized the significance of the upcoming derby match against Atletico Madrid and what it means for the club’s supporters.
When you put on the Real Madrid jersey and get onto the pitch, the expectation is that we will win every time. It’s a local rivalry, and both ourselves and the fans consider it to be a very significant game. He went on to say that “we have to continue winning games like we have done all season,” which means that we have to keep doing what we have been doing.
A promising beginning for Tchouameni
Aurelien Tchouameni joined Real Madrid a year ago and quickly established himself as an important member of the squad under Carlo Ancelotti’s direction.
The performance of the midfielder deteriorated significantly in the second part of the 2022/23 season, but he has gotten off to a much more promising start in the current campaign.
Tchouameni has been a consistent presence in Ancelotti’s diamond midfield configuration and will be looking to continue in the same vein of success against Atletico Madrid. This is in spite of the lackluster performance that he gave in the previous week against Real Sociedad.
