Alessandro Bastoni’s agent has revealed that Real Madrid are among several top-tier clubs expressing interest in the Inter Milan centre-back.
Real Madrid’s search for a new defender has become well-known, especially after being turned down by Leny Yoro.
However, it is said that despite Yoro’s refusal and the departures of Nacho and Rafa Marin, Real Madrid’s management and coaching staff are not planning any hasty decisions.
Any move they make will be thoroughly evaluated, reflecting the club’s usual approach. This careful strategy can be seen in how they handled Karim Benzema’s departure.
They chose to go a season without a primary striker rather than rushing into the market for Harry Kane because their main target, Kylian Mbappe, was already on their radar.
The defensive line is thin, but the club remains confident in its current roster. Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger are seen as the primary defenders, with Aurelien Tchouameni also considered an option at centre-back.
David Alaba is expected to return by November, if everything goes as planned. Another addition is Jesus Vallejo, who is back from his loan at Granada.
Bastoni is the newest player linked
It must be noted that Real Madrid have looked at various options, including Aymeric Laporte and Mats Hummels, but Bastoni’s name has also been considered.
Meanwhile, Bastoni has gradually established himself as a key player in Inter Milan’s starting lineup. He is now a vital component for both Inter Milan and the Italian national team.
Furthermore, the Italian champions have secured Bastoni with a contract that runs until the summer of 2028. Despite this, top European clubs continue to show interest in him.
However, Bastoni’s agent, Tullio Tinti, has made it clear that Inter Milan are not willing to let go of their star defender.
“Man City asked for Bastoni years ago, and recently Real Madrid did the same.
“Inter want to win and they’re not gonna sell their top players like Bastoni,” he was quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
It’s worth mentioning that Tinti also represents Inter Milan’s coach, Simone Inzaghi, who recently extended his contract until 2026.
This dual role of Tinti highlights the strong relationship between the player, the coach, and the club, suggesting a stable future for Bastoni at Inter Milan.
