Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham couldn’t hold back the tears following Saturday’s Champions League final win against Borussia Dortmund.
With goals scored by Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior in the second half, Los Blancos were able to earn their 15th European Cup victory by a 2-0 victory at Wembley Stadium.
Bellingham had a rather quiet game, but he still managed to come up with the assist for Vinicius’ late clinching. After the game, Bellingham revealed to TNT Sports that this was a highly emotional moment in his career.
As Bellingham put it, “I’ve always dreamed of playing in these games,” and she was right. Every day, you walk through life, and there are a lot of individuals who tell you that they are unable to achieve things. However, days like today remind you of the reasons why you continue to go. There are times when it is challenging, and you question whether or not it is worth it; yet, nights like this make you realize that it is.
Up until the moment I saw the faces of my mother and father there, I was OK! On other occasions, they have arrived at their residence at seven o’clock, and on other occasions, they have made travels to take me to football games at eleven or twelve o’clock at night. Additionally, there is my younger brother, for whom I am supposed to serve as a representative. This was without a doubt the most incredible evening of my whole life.
A determined Bellingham responded to the question of whether or not this season had been the ideal one for him by saying, “I think it’s got to be up there, we missed out on the Copa del Rey so that’s the only disappointment I suppose!” In spite of the fact that there are always many more years to attempt and achieve that one, I couldn’t have imagined that it would be much better than this.
“Tell you the truth, I am really thankful. This is a tremendous joint effort on the part of my family, my coworkers, and my team. I will never be able to believe it.
In addition, Madrid had successfully reclaimed the La Liga championship that Barcelona had previously held, and Bellingham had been awarded the honor of Player of the Season for the league itself.
