It is well-established at this point that Real Madrid plan to go all-out for the signing of Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies in the summer.
Along with Kylian Mbappe, the 23-year-old Canadian international is a top target for Carlo Ancelotti’s side for the summer window and plans are already underway to incorporate him into the squad.
Davies will enter the final year of his contract with Bayern Munich in the summer and Real Madrid have allegedly asked him not to renew.
With contract talks not progressing, the Spanish capital club are ready to make their next move in pursuit of the €70 million-rated speedster.
Real Madrid ready to offer Rafa Marin in Davies deal
Now Tobi Altschaffl of BILD is reporting that Real Madrid are prepared to offer up one of their players as a makeweight in their bid to sign Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies.
Indeed, the Merengues are understood to be willing to add Rafa Marin into the operation, so that they can sign Davies from the Bavarian giants in the summer.
Marin, 21, is currently on loan at Deportivo Alaves in La Liga and has done a solid job thus far. There have been reports that the Spaniard would be the fourth-choice centre-back at Real Madrid next season.
But with there being plans to sign a new centre-back, Marin might not enter Carlo Ancelotti’s scheme altogether and Real Madrid could offer him to Bayern, who themselves are interested in signing a defender and like the 21-year-old starlet.
Bayern could sell Davies
The report from BILD further states that Bayern Munich could be forced to sell Davies next summer as an agreement over a new contract is far from being reached.
The defender is understood to be holding out for a new contract worth around €13 million per year which is something that the Bundesliga champions are reluctant to meet.
In that case, the Bavarians have internally decided to offload Davies if his wage demands do not lower and the prospect of signing Marin as part of the deal might appeal to them.
