It is possible that Real Madrid will have just one of the best goalkeepers in their team instead of the three that they presently have on their roster.
Due to an injury to Thibaut Courtois’ anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), the Spanish giants were forced to bring in Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan from Chelsea in order to fight with Andriy Lunin for the position of goalkeeper.
Both of these players have had a very good season at Real Madrid, despite the fact that they have made a few mistakes. However, it is possible that they will not remain with the club after the summer.
To begin, Chelsea is looking to acquire Kepa on a permanent basis for a fee of €25 million. Unfortunately, Los Blancos are not expected to make such an offer, despite the fact that the player would be willing to remain with the club.
It is questionable if Lunin would be willing to return to his role as Courtois’ backup after getting a taste of regular first-team play. This is particularly true in light of the fact that Bayern Munich is apparently interested in Lunin.
Real Madrid has their sights set on Alvaro Valles.
Real Madrid is now looking for a backup goalkeeper to replace Thibaut Courtois, with the objective of ultimately replacing him as the team’s first-choice goalkeeper. As a result, Real Madrid has already begun to keep an eye on the goalkeeping market for the summer.
In light of this, it has been reported by SPORT that Real Madrid is having its eyes set on a certain Alvaro Valles who plays for UD Las Palmas.
Since joining Las Palmas in 2018, the 26-year-old player has amassed more than 120 senior appearances for the Canary Islanders. Both of these accomplishments are noteworthy.
Due to the fact that Garcia Pimienta’s team was able to secure promotion to La Liga, the Spaniard has been a consistent starter in goal for the team this season. He has maintained six clean sheets in a total of 21 matches.
The agreement that Valles has with Las Palmas is set to expire this year; however, the club has the ability to extend it for one additional year under certain circumstances.
Real Madrid remains interested in him, despite the fact that there is currently no substantial information available.
At the same time, Los Blancos are also searching for alternatives inside their own academy. Fran Gonzalez, who has been in and around the first-team setup this season, is being considered as a potential candidate for the position.
