Real Madrid have officially confirmed that star defender Eder Militao has signed a new contract with the club until the summer of 2028.
Militao signed for Real Madrid in the summer of 2019, arriving from FC Porto in a deal worth around €50 million.
After a slow start to life in Spain, the Brazilian gradually grew into one of the most reliable and solid players at the Santiago Bernabeu and has become the leader of the defensive department.
Militao’s contract was set to expire at the end of the current season, although the new deal had been agreed upon a while back ago. And now, Real Madrid have officially announced the extension until the summer of 2028.
“Real Madrid CF and Éder Militão have agreed to extend their player’s contract with the club until 30 June 2028,” the statement from the club read.
Militao has not played since the first day of the season after rupturing his ACL in the opening match against Athletic Club.
The 26-year-old’s recovery has been going remarkably well though and it is expected that the centre-half could be in action by the end of next month.
