Real Madrid forward Rodrygo is currently feeling frustrated and discontent with his situation at the club. This follows the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, which has left the Brazilian questioning his future and his role within the team.
According to a report from Alejandro Alcazar in SPORT, Rodrygo’s efforts to secure a starting spot over the past four years are now being undermined.
He had been battling with players like Marco Asensio and Federico Valverde for a regular place in the starting XI, and it was only the departure of Karim Benzema and Asensio that seemed to open the door for him.
Back to squad one
At this moment, with Mbappe’s arrival, Rodrygo finds himself back at square one, potentially pushing him to reconsider his position at the club.
Despite forming an impressive partnership with Vinicius Jr. last season, which created significant attacking threats for opposing defences.
Rodrygo’s involvement in Ancelotti’s plans has now taken a step back. His natural ability to create space and opportunities for others has been underused with the current tactical setup, diminishing his influence on the pitch.
This reduction in playing time and importance is a cause for concern. Rodrygo’s contributions were once integral to the team, but now, with Mbappe in the picture, he has found himself somewhat sidelined.
Interest from the Premier League
The frustration is understandable, especially considering the high expectations he had for his future at the club.
Adding to the pressure is the growing interest from other top clubs, with Manchester City reportedly keen on signing Rodrygo. The English club is said to be ready to make a massive offer of €150 million for the player.
While Real Madrid consider Rodrygo an important part of their future, the lack of consistent opportunities under Ancelotti might drive the Brazilian forward to explore a potential exit from the club, particularly if he feels his prospects at Madrid are limited.
