Earlier this week, there was a rather grim report from the Spanish media, claiming that David Alaba’s spell on the sidelines could be extended following complications over his injury.
However, Real Madrid have now received a major boost as it appears Alaba, along with one other star, have returned to training and are actively working out in the grass.
Alaba, Brahim back in training
According to Melchor Ruiz, David Alaba and Brahim Diaz are the two players, who have returned to training on the grass.
The journalist also posted pictures of Real Madrid players training on the field, in which Alaba and Ruiz can be clearly seen in action.
Although it may still take some time before Alaba and Ruiz can be available on the pitch, this is a major positive for Real Madrid, especially at this crucial juncture of the campaign.
When will they return to the pitch?
As mentioned earlier, complications with Alaba’s injury could force the Austrian to return later than expected.
But Real Madrid will be hopeful that the defender can return to action sooner, as the club are operating with limited options in central defence.
As for Brahim, he could return to action much sooner. Although the Moroccan remains doubtful for the upcoming El Clasico, many expect him to make his return against Valencia at the start of November.
The return of Brahim and Alaba could go a long way in boosting Real Madrid’s depth, potentially helping them avoid relying on the January transfer market for reinforcements,
