VfB Stuttgart was defeated by Real Madrid by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday, marking the beginning of Real Madrid’s Champions League campaign for the 2024–25 season.
After scoring for the third time in a row, Kylian Mbappe captured the attention of the media once again by scoring the first goal of the match against the German team.
Mbappe imitates Sergio Ramos’s celebration at the same time
This was Mbappe’s first goal for Real Madrid in the Champions League, and to commemorate the momentous occasion, he imitated a famous celebration that Sergio Ramos had performed the previous year.
A tribute to the iconic Real Madrid defender Ramos, the Frenchman raced towards the crowd and blew a kiss to the camera as he showed his appreciation.
The former Paris Saint-Germain sensation Mbappe scored the game’s first goal barely twenty seconds into the second half. He did it by capitalizing on Rodrygo’s great chance creation technique to open the scoring.
The fact that Mbappe chose to imitate Ramos’ celebration is evidence that the Frenchman is well aware of the Real Madrid tradition, which is something that he made quite obvious throughout the presentation that he gave.
Aside from scoring the goal, Mbappe had a good night at Santiago Bernabeu, where he put the Stuttgart goalkeeper through a number of tests.
Mbappe’s goal against Stuttgart will go a long way toward further strengthening his confidence as Real Madrid prepares for a vital period that lies ahead. This is despite the fact that he was not the greatest player on the field.
