Former Barcelona and Spain forward David Villa has praised Jude Bellingham, describing him as a phenomenal talent whose performances speak for themselves.
Villa noted that Bellingham has the ability to excel in any position on the field, a quality that has made him stand out since his arrival at Real Madrid.
“Bellingham’s performances speak for themselves, He is an amazing player. He could play in any position and do well,” said the former forward in Netflix’s documentary – La Liga All Access.
Bellingham, 21, joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund last summer for a hefty fee and since then, he has made an immediate impact at the Santiago Bernabeu.
A dreamlike debut
His debut season was nothing short of remarkable, as he managed to score 23 goals and provide 13 assists in just 42 appearances across all competitions. These impressive statistics reflect his versatility and ability to deliver in crucial moments for his team.
In La Liga, Bellingham’s contribution was even more significant. He netted 19 goals and recorded six assists in 28 matches, helping Los Blancos to secure their 36th La Liga title, further extending their record.
His performance wasn’t limited to domestic competitions, as he also showcased his talent on the European stage. In the UEFA Champions League, Bellingham scored four goals and set up five more in 11 appearances, underlining his influence in major tournaments.
Sidelined with injury
Unfortunately, Bellingham is currently sidelined due to an injury, which caused him to miss Real Madrid’s recent clash with Real Sociedad.
However, the young star is expected to make his return soon, with hopes that he will be fit for Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League opener against Stuttgart on Tuesday.
His return to the squad will undoubtedly boost the team as they aim to build on last season’s success.
Meanwhile, Villa’s praise for Bellingham is well-deserved, given the midfielder’s extraordinary impact at such a young age. His future at Real Madrid certainly looks bright, as he continues to impress on both domestic and international stages.
