As Real Madrid get set to take on Real Sociedad at the Anoeta on Saturday, they are set to be without two of their key midfield mainstays in Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni, reports Jose Luis Sanchez.
Bellingham has been out of action due to a foot injury since last month, but after participating in training yesterday, it was suggested that the England international will be ready and in the squad for the trip to San Sebastian.
However, that does not appear to be the case as the 21-year-old midfield superstar did not take the pitch to train today, on the eve of the match.
Meanwhile, Tchouameni suffered an injury right after the international break got underway and had to withdraw his name from the France national team squad.
Like Bellingham, the French international also did some training this week and there was cautious optimism around his availability.
But, the former AS Monaco was still said to be dealing with some discomfort and has not taken the pitch to train today. As such, he is now considered to be ruled out to face Real Sociedad.
Real Madrid, however, will welcome back Ferland Mendy and Eder Militao, both of whom were injured earlier this month, but are ready to go.
Jesus Vallejo, who has been bogged down by niggling fitness problems since pre-season, is also expected to be fit and available.
Apart from Bellingham and Tchouameni, Real Madrid will also be without fellow midfielders Dani Ceballos and Eduardo Camavinga while David Alaba also remains sidelined.
