Just over an hour after some troubling news for Real Madrid emerged from France, it was luckily followed by a fairly encouraging update on Eduardo Camavinga.
The teenage midfielder was assessed to have picked up an injury in training while on international duty with Les Bleus, adding to their troubling injury list.
Camavinga seemed to collide with Ousmane Dembele and fell down gripping his knee in agony, leaving the training session after brief evaluation from the physios.
A crucial player for both Real Madrid and France, a catastrophic injury would be a big loss for both teams, with Madrid especially concerned given their history of injuries.
However, the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano has now offered an update on the kid, stating that first indications indicate that Camavinga’s injury is not too serious.
He’ll train as usual tomorrow.
According to Romano, there is a lot of hope for France and Real Madrid that the injury is not significant and that normal service may return shortly.
There will be testing on the player tomorrow to verify there is nothing to worry about, but both sides seem to be breathing a sigh of relief after hearing the news.
The Frenchman has already established himself as an important component of the Galacticos side, having started 13 of their 17 games this season across all competitions and consistently impressing with his exceptional technical skill and adaptability.
More information may be provided tomorrow if scans are performed, but according to another update from writer Jose Luis Sanchez, Camavinga has just a bruise on his knee and will return to France training as usual tomorrow.
It’s worth keeping a watch out for updates from France’s training session tomorrow…
